This training is designed to provide a practical roadmap for state-level SNAP advocates who are newer to administrative advocacy and/or work in states where SNAP administrators aren’t regularly meeting with community stakeholders to discuss SNAP program access. Two veteran administrative advocates operating in red states (Laura Lester of Alabama and Rachel Cahill of Ohio) will present the “SNAP Workgroup” concept as one strategy to build long-term relationships with SNAP administrators that can lead to tangible policy and process improvements.
