Meaningful Stewtivation that Eliminates Donor Savior Complex and Honors Neighbors’ Dignity

Although stewardship and cultivation are often considered two distinct donor engagement steps – one can argue that every stewardship touch serves the dual purpose of thanking donors for their support and cultivating further trust and investment in your organization – thus stewtivation! Thoughtful stewardship and cultivation efforts are critical to building deep and lasting relationships with donors – including individual, corporate, and foundation supporters.

Today, it is more important than ever to be mindful of how stewardship efforts impact the people we often tap to demonstrate the value of our work – neighbors who face food insecurity. Join us to hear from FANO and food bank professionals to walk through comprehensive and innovative stewardship efforts that acknowledge and honor neighbors’ dignity.

This session seeks to answer the question: How do we help donors understand their impact and importance without perpetuating stereotypes and burdening neighbors? There will be ample time reserved for small group discussion along with a Q&A session at the end.
